Kittens born in the rain – a new beginning
Having following the kittens from our previous blogs ‘Kittens born in the rain’ and the update blogs 1 and 2, I fell totally in love with the little kittens. After many discussions with my family we decided to adopt one of the kittens.
We went along to see the kittens and their mum at the Cats Protect foster home back in May. All of the kittens had been named as characters from the TV series Happy Days. We were instantly drawn to the smallest ginger male kitten – Fonz!
The foster carer, Irene, who was looking after the kittens kindly let us visit every two weeks to see how the kittens were doing and to get to know Fonz. We returned to see him when he was around 5 weeks old. He had grown and changed so much. My children decided that they wanted to rename him. I loved the name Fonz but the children are too young to know who the Fonz is! We agreed we would pick a new name.
Each of my children picked a name, we popped the names in a hat and picked one at random. Fonz was renamed ‘Louie’.
At 8 weeks old Irene took Louie for his first vaccinations and after a couple of days he was ready to come and see his new home. I collected him on Friday and we’ve spent the most fantastic weekend with him. He has settled in so well. He has a fantastic character, lots of fun and mischief. He loves cuddles and has taken to snuggling up on my lap when he needs a nap.
We love our little Louie and I am so pleased we decided to give him a home. I’m sure it will be no time before his brothers and sister are rehomed too.
I’d like to say a big thank you to Irene from Cats Protection for giving him a fantastic start to his life!
