New arrivals – kittens born in the rain
Last week a worried client came rushing into the surgery with a new born kitten around 12 hours old.
I checked her over, she was wet, very cold and still had the placenta attached to her umbilical cord. Sarah and I clamped, tied off and removed this after warming her up on a covered examination glove filled with hot tap water. I rubbed her dry and she soon came to life. Her mum had given birth to her 4 kittens in the rain as she was a stray and this very kind client has been feeding her and didn’t realise she was pregnant.
